Fallen off the healthy eating wagon? … Donโ€™t give yourself a hard time – own it ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ

Today I returned to work (and the gym) after last week off recovering from a virus.

Although I had been to the gym on Saturday, tonight really felt like I was “Back babyyy!” ๐Ÿ™Œ

I wanted to share this quick post as an honest look at what to do when you fall clean off eating healthily.

How unhealthy we talking here?

Last week I ate healthy but I was WAY OFF my eating plan on the whole.

I ordered Dominos pizza, twice. I bought a box of cookies from Coles, three times and I also had a burger for lunch (yesterday!) too. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿช๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ

While I appreciate this doesn’t sound like the end of the world compared to what many people eat on the daily – for me all of the above was strictly against what I had been working so hard on in recent weeks.

So much for cutting down sugar and fat hey? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Why did you do it?

I was eating like this because I wanted to (I wasn’t drunk scoffing a munch after a night out!).

I was buying this devilish stuff because I wanted it. ๐Ÿ˜

And I won’t lie – I enjoyed it, allllll of it. #especiallythecookies

The pizza and cookies were only meant to be a one-off but they were so good I went back another day …

Part of me was clearly eating my feelings too, I didn’t feel so great with a virus – any excuse to get that bad munch on hey?! ๐Ÿ˜…

Be straight up! Own it!

There’s no harm in admitting to yourself you’ve been naughty.

Also, admitting to your family, friends and your PT won’t do you any harm either.

Like, hello – they’ve all been there (numerous times) too!

Similar to a break up, the sooner you accept it’s done – the sooner you can move on โžก๏ธ

Listen to what’s GOOD for you

And while this post is not me saying “Go for ya life, eat what you want, when you want”, a little part of me IS saying do what you want …

You just have to make sure you’re listening to yourself enough to know when to stop. ๐Ÿ›‘

If I had continued this eating trend into a second week I would feel (and look) absolutely ming a ling!

But I knew I’d be back on form today and I was really looking forward to my gym session after work.

So what’s next?

Today in the gym = my body was definitely carrying extra weight.

It feels almost like a hangover version of me (you know how you feel after a night out, bit flabby round the edges!)

It’s fair to say I’ve made things harder for myself ๐Ÿ˜… … I have my work cut out over the next couple of weeks before New York on 2nd Aug! ๐Ÿ—ฝ

I’m officially back on my health flow now (low sugar, low fat, clean eating) and I’ll stick to it until I feel I want to have a naughty episode.

But next time I’ll aim for this just to be on cheat day only!!

You MUST have fun in your life. Donuts are fun! Ice cream is fun! Alcohol is fun!

Just don’t go too far over the edge for prolonged periods of time – keep giving your body its best chance to look and feel as incredible as can be! ๐Ÿ’ฅ
