Discovering the joy of a sober Christmas Eve

Today/ tonight marks the first Christmas Eve in yearsssss that I’ve;

1) Been in the same country as my wonderful Mum

2) Been ready for bed at midnight

3) Been 110% sober AF

*number 3; I genuinely can’t remember feeling this in my adult life … We are talking at least 14 years!

*number 2; hasn’t happened same amount of time as number 3 #becausenumber3

*number 1; first time since 2013 πŸŽπŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ½

Not drinking so far this holidays has been 90% easy, a joy and if anything felt very “normal”.

I’ll be writing a round up about the truths of being a “no thanks, I’m not drinking” person after the holidays.

There are definitely some hurdles (mainly people!) to overcome and rise above.

But on the whole; if you’re set on not drinking your “feeling fresh and fully present” medal is there for the taking.

Only you decide what goes into your body and sometimes it really is the best option to say NO.

There is no shame in saying NO.

There is also no shame in having a damn good time and going hell for leather, partying like there’s no tomorrow!

The truth is; you’ve gotta do what’s right for you in your given situation, frame of mind and time of your life.

I’m so excited to wake up for our first family Christmas in Singapore tomorrow!

May Santa bring you smiles, something to treasure and lots of love.
