Dealing with a wonky nose

I look at myself in the mirror sometimes and think “big wonky nose, small eyes, one eye brow is higher than the other, teeth not 100% straight”

That’s not me being mean to myself of course, I’m confident AF – I love myself.

It’s a FACT.

I have about 10 things I could change with a magic wand in the blink of an eye, if I was that way inclined.

But I’m not – I’m natural (my face and body tells a damn good story) and I’m staying that way.

Wonky nose chapter; Back when I was in college (about 15 years ago!) and had an older boyfriend, some girls (his age) took offence. AKA were jealous – same old with girls – and they jumped me in a bar back home in Wales.

True story.

The morning after, said boyfriends Mum told me “you’ve had your nose broken, it’s wonky”.

Being young and not taking into account the horrible event that had happened (scrapping was pretty normal where I grew up!) I carried on, didn’t get it seen to etc.

It’s never caused me any problems and obviously it doesn’t bother me but it is a bit crooked. I imagine by the time I’m 120 it’ll be much worse.

I didn’t know what I what I wanted to write about today and as I looked in the mirror this morning that “wonky nose” thought crossed my mind so here it is getting its own blog post 👃😂

Point of this post; we’ve all got imperfections (ok maybe not J. Lo) but you’ve gotta learn to love what you see in the mirror.

Or at the very least (if your confidence is lacking) you MUST appreciate your body for what it does for you.

With me, I think about my little feet and legs and how far they’ve taken me (around the globe twice during my travel days!).

And how much pleasure I get from running – I couldn’t feel those feels in my heart and mind without the aid of my little frame taking me so willingly from A to B.

One trick is; know your angles – we all know what works for us. I’m a selfie Queen, because I know the pics that work best for me.

No filters – just smiles and my best side 😁

But aside from photos, which I find important because I want record my life  – your main asset is (of course!!!) your SMILE and your nature.

This morning, while running, I passed two gents walking – they just have been in their 60’s – one had a t-shirt on that read “it’s what’s on the inside that counts”.

And while we all want to like what we see in the mirror that’s what matters at the of the day.

As my Mum used to say when I was little “looks fade” – I think she used to say that when I was being a little sod causing mayhem with boys but it’s true to some degree for sure – nature will take its course.

So if you’re reading this with one/ multiple things you could change with a magic wand – think about it – your body is pretty awesome.

Even with all your little things you might upgrade if you had the chance.

Fact: If you laid out your veins they could stretch around the world. IMAGINE.

Also – let’s please give a little thanks for the heart that beats for you all day, every day, every night without you asking it to:

⬆️ Think about that!!!!! ⬆️

Thanks for reading- have a great 24 hrs ahead! ☺️
